She grew up in Belgium and Sweden before attending high school in Hong Kong and college in the US. She holds an B.A. in Performance Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from A.R.T Institute at Harvard University. Artist Statement: I came to making paintings as a way of finding rootedness in a transient life. Through exploring color and shapes, I am searching for a moment of simultaneous exuberance and clarity - the sort of moment where we feel ourselves to be both intimately knowable and and expansively infinite. While the composition and colors of my paintings usually come together quickly, I spend most of my time observing the surface and massaging the edges, because someone with a lifelong appreciation for materials before an appreciation for art, I hope to create paintings that are objects that can support joyful contemplation.
