Artist Bio:
I have been making art my whole life, and in the last few years have been growing my practice through coursework and time spent in the studio. Recently I have taken courses at the School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League, and will be doing the SVA Summer Residency Program in June.

Artist Statement:
I make paintings, drawings, and monotypes that reflect on the desire to understand and make meaning out of a mysterious world. My work often features a central character interacting with their vast environment, using light as a storytelling device to stage the cartooning-informed protagonists in their quests. They explore with wide-eyed curiosity, or more urgently seek something unknowable to the viewer (and possibly to themselves). Sometimes the actions they take are absurd or futile, like pushing hard on the trunk of a sturdy tree; other times, their gaze is the only form of agency they have. Ultimately, I implicate the viewer in these acts, sometimes directly.
