During this time he was lucky to meet important cultural figures such as Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, August Wilson, and James Baldwin, Each of them has influenced his work. He has loved artmaking from an early age. It's there that he feels most fulfilled. After attending Film School in North Carolina, Robinson moved to Brooklyn, New York.

Artist Statement:
I'm an abstract painter often using found objects as my canvas. Currently, I'm making mixed-media works that hover between painting, drawing, and assemblage. Using a combination of found materials as well as paint, wire, and string, I create reductive and meditative works that invite contemplation. As I make art, I am communicating primarily with myself subconsciously. I can't always articulate exactly what I am trying to say, but hope to connect with the viewer in a way that encourages them to contemplate their own concerns.
