Artist Statement:
Her roots are grounded in advertising at the height of the advertising boom. Spurned by the graphic nature of images and typography gave birth to her career in Fine Art.
Mattingly's work draws attention to the continuity of images as they pass through time, from her all-American up-bringing time-frame to today's contemporary imagery of outside graffiti.
Inspired by multiple mediums, Mattingly can rarely confine herself to one art form and produces work that crosses boundaries and styles.
Fueled by humor and nostalgia, from her American drawings series in graphite and charcoal; Hula Hooping: A Self Portrait; to sculptural work like The Swimmer, or Are We There Yet showing a nostalgic pink Cadillac to her current take on metal graffiti using LED lights.

Born in Washington DC, Mattingly studied at VCU in Richmond, VA receiving a BFA. Her art has been shown in various galleries and fairs across the country and Museums, and collected by many here and abroad. She lives and works in New York, LIC and Hampton Bays.
