Medium: Painting Studio Location: 10-10 44th Avenue - Studio# #319 Artist Bio: I started painting with my mother's acrylic paints as a teenager, and have made drawings lifelong. After a short career in human services, I returned to art school after working on my own for a while, studying painting and sculpture at NY schools. This was helpful in sharpening my artistic process and focus. My sculpture included a series of functional pieces for bicycle parking in collaboration with a cycling advocacy group. For several years I drew a minicomic, Urban Bear, speculating about wildlife regaining their habitat in NYC. After touring studios in Chelsea and East Harlem, I found a congenial workspace for painting in Long Island City where I can practice the craft. Artist Statement: I am currently working with figurative imagery from observation, recollection and a variety of photographic sources.
