Lidia Santana is considered a visionary in different art forms. She was born and raised in New York City. In her younger days her parents exposed her to the streets of Chelsea, Soho, the east and west village where fashion, film, art and music are heavily influential. She remembers sitting next to her mother and watching her sew clothing for all occasions. Then on Saturday join her father for band rehearsals in different styles of music.
She graduated from Five Towns College in 2001 as a Jazz Commercial Performer. She had performed in various schools, weddings, orchestra pits and holiday functions. Although she spent most of her years being a musician she recently developed a passion for photography and painting.
In 2014 she participated in her first group show at the E Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Her self portraits were featured. She was described as the modern day Frida Kahlo. There is an art to her photography.
Towards the end of 2014 she decided to expand her visual artistry by becoming a painter. From there on she has participated in several group shows through out the city of New York.
I'm an artist of many styles. As a mix media artist I believe that in art there are no rules. There is no reason to be perfect when there are no rules. - Lady Con Locs
