Artist Bio:
Liz Sloan (born 1965) is an assemblage artist. Her unique painting style; something she calls elemental energy, uses both the stroke of a brush and the energy derived from rhythmically arranging black outlined, solid white ovals. The vitality of her three-dimensional work bursts out from the traditional picture plane, balancing the energy of the ovals with the movement of a painted line.

Liz has been painting on and off for 35 years under the tutelage of Bruce Dorfman at the Art Students League of New York. Sloan majored in fine arts at Colgate University after which she ran a successful jewelry design business. She decided to return to painting full time a few years ago.

She lives with her husband and two children in New York City and Southampton, New York.
