In my large-scale, primarily abstract, paintings I often depict an imaginary locale. To gain greater potency to my color, I treat acrylics like watercolor, making the most of its fluidity, transparency and luminosity. This painterly environment underpins my images where forms are abstract but allusive, hard-edge geometric shapes and linear elements providing a counterpoint to the softer topographical rhythms.
My works on paper are executed in charcoal, a medium I have explored extensively in combination with pastel, pencil and paint. Recently I have concentrated on a single (and singular) object -exploring the eccentricities of forms as they evolve through a process of accretion.
